General info
Seminyak is a beach resort region on the southern coast of Bali. It is home to several luxury hotels, villas, and spas. The mood is considerably more relaxed than at Kuta, and the beach is generally calmer throughout the day than other beaches.
It’s difficult to believe that just 10 years ago, this was a distinct community and a bit of a backwater. Development has proceeded at a breakneck speed, annihilating any green area that formerly separated Seminyak and Legian.
Seminyak is the epicenter of life for masses of the expats residing in Bali, who operate stores, design clothing, surf, or do nothing but chill all day. Everybody their own thing, right?
While Seminyak is located just north of Kuta and Legian, it seems almost as if it is on another island in many ways. Mostly because of its luxurious feeling.
It’s a vibrant neighborhood, home to dozens of restaurants and clubs, as well as an abundance of innovative, trendy boutiques and galleries.
Seminyak is a great place to stay if you want everything within walking distance, and are after a more luxurious vacation.
Worth a mention. Motel Mexicola is an awesome restaurant serving great Mexican food. During their legendary evenings, they will also fill you up with some tequila shots straight from the bottle!
