General info
Medewi is located on the west coast of Bali, close to the border crossing with the neighboring island of Java. The simplest method to get to Medewi is to hire a private driver (particularly if you are traveling with surfboards), which will take around two hours from Canggu or three hours from the airport…but take that with a grain of salt, since Bali traffic can be insane!
Despite its small size, this tiny coastal town offers accommodation to suit all tastes and budgets, from low-cost guesthouses such as Gede Guesthouse to luxurious Bali surf resorts such as Bombora Wavelodge.
You are probably here to surf in Medewi, a world-famous point break just in front of this small fishing village. Who doesn’t like an empty surf break?
After surfing around Bali, this is without a doubt one of your favorite waves on the island, if not the whole globe. This rocky bottom point break is fun and ridiculously long, so be prepared for some serious leg-burning sessions and noodle arms on the paddle out! Goofy footers will love this wave for its long lefts.
Along with the major surf point, there are several peaks along the coast on both sides of Medewi, including A-frame beach breakers and smaller reefs and points.
