General info
Canggu is a tourist town on the south coast of Bali. It is bordered by terraced rice fields and is famous for its surfing beaches such as Old Man’s, Batu Bolong, and Echo beach.
Canggu is a popular tourist spot on the Island of The Gods, known for its laid-back attitudes. The neighborhood is beachfront and is home to a large group of surfers, expats, yoga enthusiasts, and digital nomads.
This hip spot is rapidly gaining popularity as a must-see in Bali (in fact, it already is). It is not yet as lavish and pricey as Seminyak or Uluwatu, but it offers something for everyone. There are luxury spas, backpacker hangouts, and accommodations for every price.
Canggu is a must-see on your Bali trip if you are looking for some downtime, like cafe culture, or want to explore Balinese culture all in one.
Between your favorite cafés and magnificent houses, rice fields, temples, and street food, you will still be able to enjoy the local life. The people here stay true to their roots. Something to admire.
Canggu is a great place to enjoy the Balinese Surf Culture and kickstart your surf journey. There are many board rentals and surf instructors available to help you catch your first wave. Keep in mind that during high tide, the shore break will get tricky, and many people have fallen prey to the powerful waves crashing on the black sandy beaches.
