General info
Bingin is a magnificent beach with unmatched views of the Indian Ocean and a world-class wave that makes it one of the most sought-after surfing locations in Bali and across the globe.
The five-star wave here is massive, strong, and demanding. It can stir and captivate the adrenaline of any surfer, but especially experienced and professional surfers.
Beginner surfers can surf here while the tide is high, and the swell is weak too! Who doesn’t want to surf in pristine blue waters?
Although just a short distance from the parking lot, walking down to the beach is not as easy as you would think. When you initially arrive, you will be required to walk through some tight passageways, and steep steps down. If you are unfamiliar with Bali, you can wonder whether you are in the right area… but have no fear, the passageways ultimately open up to beautiful ocean views.
The way up? well, let’s say you should not drink too much, because you will be in for a long, painful walk in the dark. Everyone says it’s worth it though, and we could not agree more with that.
Bingin Beach is situated in southern Bali, in the village of Pecatu. It is less than 30 minutes from Denpasar Airport and less than 10 minutes from Uluwatu Temple, one of Bali’s most beautiful tourist spots. Unlike in other adjacent towns, where the rest of the restaurants and cafés are perched on the cliff overlooking the valley, in Bingin, they’ve built everything on the cliffside, creating a lovely town atmosphere right on the beach.
