Chill Spots in the Kuta Area

Kelly’s Warung is a surfer-styled warung located on the cliffs of Bingin beach. Overlooking one of the best (photogenic) surf breaks in Bali, Kelly’s offers great food, regular (beach) parties, stunning sunsets, and good laughs with its regular visitors.
Keep in mind that Kelly’s is a steep walk down and up from the cliffs, so either calm down on the drinking games or stay the night at one of the many accommodations Bingin has to offer.
Drifter Surf Cafe has it all. They serve great healthy food for your pre- & post-surf sesh meal. Most ingredients are locally sourced, and their delicious coffee is from the Mandailing Estate in Sumatra!
In addition to their cafe, they also have a shop offering just about everything a surfer ever wanted. Ranging from beautiful surfboards, surf apparel, accessories, and even books. They have it all, and it’s definitely worth the stop!
Thruster Club, located at the back of White Monkey Surf Shop, is one of those places that you must go to if you are into surfing. It is a great place to catch up with friends over a nice cup of coffee or create new friendships with the people you meet here. Everyone coming here shares that same passion for surfing with you, so a lot to talk about!
Come here for your early morning Bullet Coffees, juices, or some healthy shots of Kombucha. In the evenings, Thruster Club becomes the ultimate place for some drinks and snacks while watching some of the best surf movies (movies are on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday).
At the back of Thruster Club, there is a Nalu Bowls joint serving healthy bowls to fill you up after a demanding surf sesh at either Padang Padang, Impossibles, or one of the many surf spots the Bukit Peninsula has to offer.
Keramas is a less developed area on Bali’s East Coast. Nevertheless, this is the place to be for surfers during the wet season here in Bali. Producing awesome waves, this is your surf spot from November till March.
The selection of accommodation and places to chill is not as broad as in other parts of Bali (like Canggu), but this does mean that you will experience the real feeling and the calmness of the Island of the Gods.

Komune Beach Club is located right in front of Keramas Beach surf break. The ideal hang-out for an all-day surf patrol, including some drinks and good food. They offer a mix of comfy food and healthy, locally produced dishes. From farm to table as they say.
Although it’s a bit on the pricy side, the view overlooking the world-class waves (during the rainy season) is something else! Definitely worth a go if you don’t mind paying a little bit more.
